** the 1920s.

If I could go back in time and visit a different era, I would go back to the "Roaring Twenties."
*************************************************************************************
The automobile* was invented during this era.
Movies also became more popular now that people had better transportation. Movie sales and attendance began to soar, as well as the listening to of radios. Yet I think the thing I love the most about the 20s era is the fashion and style. I think of the Flappers when hearing about this age. The Flappers' image was accomplished by making drastic changes to the way women dressed, especially at that time. Flappers wore make-up and even applied it in public. Dresses that they wore stopped at the knees, and the hip lines were lowered. The cloche hat became an every day necessity, which usually came down to your eyebrows.*

//role-models*//

My mother is the person that inspires me the most. She is one of the strongest Christians I know, and has the best outlook on life. She constantly has a -smile- on her face and is always looking for ways to make me laugh. My mom is my number one go-to person when I face problems, because I know she'll always have a positive answer. I love how she is always understanding and caring, and how she always finds time to just listen. She loves little kids, and it amazes me how God blessed her, as well as many others, by giving her the job of playing with them all day long! She motivates me in a way that makes me push myself to become a better person. My mother is my inspiration!*

.: taks :.

The TAKS test is a test taken every year by students in the state of Texas. I honestly have no alternative to taking the TAKS test. Personally, I do not care for it at all, yet I believe it has good benifits for the state. By taking the test, the state of Texas is given a way to make sure that we are all doing our "jobs." I have no idea how they could get away without it, unfortunately.

...of all the places*

Of all the places in the world to visit... if I had the opportunity, I would love to take a trip to Paris, France. When I think about Paris, I think about {romance}, //rain//, and *fashion...all three of which interest me. Paris is known as the world capital city of shopping and fashion. I can't even imagine spending an entire day shopping and strolling the streets of Paris, France. I'm also dying to get to see the Eiffel Tower up close. Pictures of the Eiffel Tower already draw my attention...but there would be nothing better than actually seeing it. The thing I would love the most about traveling to Paris would be getting to witness French architecture and design. I've always loved the styles and colors used in France because they create a sense of *elegance. Paris...here I come!!

--> in my own words.

As we all know, Barack Obama has been elected the 44th President of the United States. Honestly, I really don't know what to think about this. From tuning into my parents conversations, I've heard that he is wanting to take the troops out of Iraq. He has made it clear that that is what he is wanting to do first. Whether this be good for America or bad, I really can't say. I've also learned that he is wanting to make it more fair for the middle class Americans when it comes to taxes. If I understand correctly, Obama is wanting the wealthier to pay higher taxes than those in the middle class, who probably work harder for their money. I think we'll all just have to wait and see if Barack really follows through with the ideas he's had for a better America.
